Wastewater Treatment
One of our key areas of expertise includes Wastewater Treatment. Our recent projects in Bandra and Worli- with a capacity of 360MLD and 500MLD respectively bear testament to the same. These wastewater treatment facilities will ensure the treatment of incoming wastewater meets the specified effluent discharge standards. A tertiary treatment plant for reuse of non-potable quality water to the tune of 50% of the planned WwTF capacity is proposed. The Sludge generated post treatment will be treated to USEPA Class A standard and will be treated in digester tanks, biogas will be generated which will be used for Power Generation.

Water Treatment and
River Rejuvenation
IVL’s work in India has a special focus on SDG6- Clean Water and Sanitation. Our current project includes water purification and reducing pollution in Mithi river, Mumbai. The Mithi River is a non-perennial waterway that passes through both residential and industrial areas before reaching the Arabian Sea. Efforts to reduce pollution and restore the river include intercepting dry weather flow (DWF) and diverting it to an 8 MLD sewage treatment plant (STP). Additionally, DWF from two major drains is being redirected via a tunnel to the Dharavi wastewater treatment facility for processing.

Tunnel Execution
IVL India has played a pivotal role as a project management consultant in the construction of an underground sewage tunnel as part of the Mithi River Rejuvenation Project. The tunnel, with a diameter of 2.60 meters, is being built to improve the water quality of the Mithi River. Once completed, it will divert an estimated 168 million liters of contaminated water per day from nearby drains into the sewage treatment plant at Dharavi. After treatment, the water will be released into the Creek at Mahim Nature Park. This initiative is part of the larger Mumbai sewerage project and will help maintain the cleanliness of the Mithi River.

Waste to Energy
We provide innovative solutions and extensive expertise in waste collection and recycling. IVL’s experts have collaborated with various municipalities both in Sweden and internationally to improve waste management systems, drawing on EU best practices. Our approach is interdisciplinary and considers technical, economic, environmental, and social factors to identify the best possible solutions. We work with diverse stakeholders to implement the most effective strategies tailored to local conditions, optimizing resource and waste flows.

Waste heat Recovery- Fossil Free Heating & Cooling
Our expertise lies in developing an affordable and scalable solution for capturing redundant energy from waste incineration processes and to transform it to power, heating, and cooling services which could generate additional revenues while providing a range of environmental and socio-economic benefits. In our Delhi project, we are working with recovery of waste heat from medical waste incineration facility.
We are also supporting the decarbonization of the energy sector by resorting to energy systems modeling to identify what should be built or how existing assets should be renovated. In addition to technical design, bankability analyses and investment analyses are made for the necessary investments of the roadmaps.

Pollution Control
